Aurora is a city in St. Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,850 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.2 km (3.9 mi). 9.8 km (3.8 mi) of it is land and 0.4 km (0.1 mi) of it (3.56%) is water. It is surrounded by mixed coniferous/deciduous forest and is near man lakes.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 1,850 people, 812 households, and 495 families residing in the city. The population density was 188.0/km (487.4/mi). There were 893 housing units at an average density of 90.7/km (235.3/mi). The racial makeup of the city was 98.38% White, 0.05% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.38% Asian, 0.05% from other races, and 0.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.32% of the population.

There were 812 households out of which 22.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.6% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.0% were non-families. 34.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.19 and the average family size was 2.79.
